We were totally overwhelmed and delighted to see so many people supporting this year’s Village Show as exhibitors and viewing and thank you for all you kind comments.
Yes, it was a steep learning curve but this the guidance and support of Roy & Jackie Halsey, Sarah & Roger Cockerton and other past Show committee members a very memorable weekend took place.
The marquee was a new dimension for us this year and proved very successful, thank you to the Festival Team for putting up and taking down for us. Thank you also to the Exhibition Team who created a wonderful display of all the Children’s colourful art work and to the Lunch Club ladies for providing endless cups of tea and cake!
To see children at the Vegetable Lego table creating cars, spaceships and other things from cucumbers, carrots and fruit and later happily munching on them was truly delightful.
This year over 100 villagers entered nearly 400 exhibits from photography, handicrafts, domestic, fresh produce and flowers from their gardens, along with an amazing 250 Children’s paintings. Not forgetting the Floral Art displays which were quite stunning and imaginatively interpreted.
A huge thank you for the generosity of our Village businesses and individuals who kindly sponsored each of our display sections or provided thoughtful raffle prizes ranging from afternoon teas, breakfast or dinner, an original painting, bulbs and many more gifts.
Very quickly it became clear how important the Annual Village Show is to so many families in the village and the weekend was a wonderful coming together of our fantastic community – what Bishopsteignton does best!
